  1. Installing PostNet!

Installation of PostNet! is identical to installation of the other type 1 fonts you use with your Macintosh. If you are not familiar with font installation you should consult your Macintosh user manual to determine the best way to install fonts on your system. A description of each file included with PostNet! is as follows:

  8. PostNetCod is the printer file that contains the bar code information for your laserprinter. This file is installed by placing it in your system folder.

  13. PostNetCode.bmap is a screen font representation of your bar code. Install PostNetCode.bmap into your system by using the Font/DA mover, or another font utility, such as SuitCase II or MasterJuggler.

The FileMaker Pro Example is a sample mailing list file that has the calculations and bar coding already set up for use with PostNet!. The file also contains a template for placing bar codes on a #10 envelope and Avery labels  (#5162). The file will also sort your address list by ZIP code. You will need FileMaker Pro to use this file.

Once you have installed the PostNetCod file and the PostNetCode.bmap file, you should be able to access the font menu bar in any program and find the font name Postnet listed in the menu bar with your other fonts. If Postnet is not listed in your menu bar, try restarting your computer. Note: Depending on the software used, the font name in the menu bar will appear as either Postnet, Post or PostNetCode.
